Traceify

Discord verification and alt detection.

Traceify is a Discord bot. New members verify before they get access to your server, and Traceify tells you when a banned user comes back on a second account.

Each server has its own settings page. Sign in with Discord and pick a server you manage.

How it works

  1. 1

    Member joins

Traceify is a verification bot. Your server posts a Verify button, and new members can't see the rest of the server until they press it.

  2. 2

    Member verifies

The button opens traceify.win, where they sign in with Discord.

  3. 3

    Alt check

Traceify checks whether the new account belongs to someone you banned, using their email, device and network. If it looks like the same person, a moderator reviews it.

  4. 4

    Role given

If the check passes, Traceify gives the member the verified role you chose and the server opens up. If not, they stay without it until a moderator decides.

Features

Alt detection

Matches new accounts to banned ones by email, device and network, and shows which of them matched.

VPN aware

Shared VPN and Tor exits are recognised, so two people on the same VPN are not flagged as alts.

Moderator log

Every pass, hold and pending check is logged with the reason.

Alts caught across servers

Verifications from every server go into one database, so the same person is recognised even on a second account in a different server. A ban in one server is never applied to another on its own. Roles, settings and what happens on a match stay with each server.

Add Traceify to your server.

Invite the bot and choose a verified role. New members are checked from then on.

Questions

What is Traceify?
Traceify is a Discord bot for verification and alt detection. New members sign in with Discord before they get access, and Traceify checks whether the account matches one your moderators already removed from your server.
How does alt detection work?
It compares a new member's email, device and network with accounts your moderators have acted on. Your moderators see what matched and decide what happens.
Does it flag people who use a VPN?
No. Using a VPN is not a reason to be flagged. Traceify recognises many known VPN, datacenter and Tor addresses and gives them almost no weight, so sharing one with another member is not treated as a match. The lists are not complete, so a small private VPN may not be recognised.
What data does Traceify store?
Emails, IP addresses and device fingerprints are encrypted before they are stored, and verification records are deleted after two years. The details are in the privacy policy.
Does Traceify share bans between servers?
No. Nothing carries over between servers by default. Verification records are shared so one person can be recognised across servers, but that recognition only counts against action taken in your own server.
What are global bans?
A global ban is an optional feature that is off by default. A server must send Traceify a case with written proof, and Traceify staff review it before approving. Only servers that turned global bans on apply approved cases. Approved cases can be appealed and revoked, and the person named can see what was reported.

Sensitive fields are encrypted before they are stored, and observations are deleted after two years.
