Terms of Service
Last updated 8 November 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of Traceify, a Discord verification bot and alt detector. Please read them before you add the bot, sign in, or verify.
1. The service
Traceify is a Discord bot, a website at traceify.win and a server dashboard. Together they verify new members of a Discord server and compare each verified account with the accounts that server has banned, to find people who return on alternate accounts. In these terms "we" and "us" mean the operator of traceify.win (see the Legal notice), and "the service" means all of that.
Traceify is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Discord Inc. Discord is a trademark of its owner.
2. Who these terms cover
These terms apply to two groups. Server staff are the people who add the bot to a Discord server or use the dashboard. Members are the people who verify on traceify.win to get access to a server that uses Traceify. Members' verification records are held in one database shared by every server that uses Traceify, so alt accounts can be recognised across servers (see Shared records, separate bans).
By adding the bot, signing in to the dashboard or verifying, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. A member who does not want to verify can leave the server instead.
3. Who may use it
You must be old enough to use Discord under Discord's own terms, which is at least 13 years old and higher where your local law says so.
To add the bot or change a server's settings you must have the Manage Server permission on that server and the authority to make decisions for it.
4. Rules for server staff
You decide whether and how your server uses Traceify. That makes you responsible for how you use what it shows you. In particular:
- Tell your members that the server uses verification and alt detection, for example in your rules or on the verification message.
- Treat a flag as a signal, not proof. Look at the reasons Traceify shows and decide yourselves. Do not ban, shame or punish a member on a flag alone.
- Use results only to moderate your own server. Do not publish them, sell them, or use them to harass, discriminate against or track people.
- Do not try to learn who a person is outside Discord from the information the service shows you.
- Follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and the laws that apply to you.
- You can remove the bot at any time. To have your server's data deleted, email us at the address in the contact section.
5. Shared records, separate bans
When you add the bot, verifications in your server go into the same database as every other server that uses Traceify, so one person can be recognised across servers. Only bans made in your own server count in your server. A ban made in another server is never applied to yours.
Other servers never see your server's name, settings, log or bans. They can only see that an account is linked to another account.
A server can ask for a global ban with /tracer report user, by sending proof. Traceify staff review every case and approve or deny it, and we tell the person who sent it. A server applies approved global bans only if its owner turned that on in the dashboard. It is off by default. Send cases in good faith, with real proof. The bot limits how many cases a server can send (3 a day, 5 waiting, one every 10 minutes per person), and pauses a server for 30 days after 3 denied cases. We may stop accepting cases from a server that sends false ones.
Your server's own verification stays yours: the verified role, the panel, the log channel and what happens on a match are set per server.
6. Rules for members
Verification is how a server that uses Traceify lets you in. You sign in with Discord on traceify.win. We ask Discord for your user ID, the email on your account (only if Discord marks it verified) and the list of server IDs you are in. We do not read your messages, post for you, or join servers for you.
What we then store, why, and for how long is set out in the Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Try to get around or fool verification or alt detection, for example by faking the device fingerprint, forging requests, or using automated tools to verify.
- Verify with an account you do not control, or on behalf of someone else.
- Probe, scan, overload or attack the service, or try to reach systems and data you are not meant to reach.
- Reverse engineer or scrape the service to learn how to avoid detection, or to collect information about members.
- Use the service for anything unlawful, or in a way that harms other people.
If you find a security problem, please report it through the security.txt file instead of using it.
8. How detection works and where it is wrong
Detection compares the email, device and network of accounts and weighs how likely it is that two accounts belong to the same person. It is a statistical estimate. It can wrongly link two different people (for example family members or flatmates who share a network or a device) and it can miss real alternate accounts.
Shared VPN, hosting and Tor networks are recognised and given almost no weight, but the lists are not perfect. We do not guarantee that any given match, or the absence of one, is correct.
By default Traceify holds a likely alt for review. A server can choose automatic kick or ban for matches to accounts banned in that same server. Matches to bans in other servers never kick or ban automatically. Server staff are responsible for the actions they enable. A member who thinks they were held or removed in error should contact the server's staff first. Members can also write to us about their data (see the Privacy Policy).
9. Access to the dashboard
You sign in with Discord. Keep your Discord account secure. Sessions end after two hours. You are responsible for what is done with your access. Tell us if you think it has been misused.
We may limit or end access for a server or person who breaks these terms, puts the service or other people at risk, or abuses the service.
10. Availability, changes and cost
Traceify is provided free of charge at the moment. If that changes we will tell you before it applies to you.
We work to keep the service running but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, pause or stop features. If we stop the service we will give reasonable notice where we can.
11. Ownership
The software, the name and the design of Traceify belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you the right to use the service, not to copy or resell it.
Your Discord data and your server's settings stay yours. You allow us to process them as needed to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or loss that arises from a decision a server makes about a member.
Where the law allows a cap, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Because the service is free today, that amount is zero.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, or the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
13. Ending your use
You can stop at any time: server staff by removing the bot, members by not verifying and by asking us to delete their data. We may suspend or end the service for a person or a server that breaks these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue (ownership, liability, governing law) continue after use ends.
14. Personal data
How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. Server staff who need a data processing agreement can ask for one at the contact address.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the service changes. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change is significant we will say so on the website before it applies. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the new terms.
We may also change how the service works whenever we consider it necessary, for example to keep it secure, to follow the law, to reduce abuse, or to improve it. This includes the durations and limits in these terms and in the Privacy Policy, such as how long verification records are kept, how long a session lasts, how many global ban cases a server can send, and how long a server is paused after denied cases. The values stated on this website at any time are the ones that apply.
If a change to a duration or to how we handle personal data affects members, we will update the Privacy Policy and the date at the top, and where the law requires notice or consent we will give it. Changes to the terms apply from the date shown and do not apply to things that happened before it.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country where the operator is established, as given in the Legal notice. This does not take away the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live, and consumers in the EU may also bring a claim in the courts of their own country.
